A Backyard Wedding: Garrett+Sydney
June 21, 2025
There’s something so special about a backyard wedding, especially when it takes place on land that belongs to your family. Instead of choosing a traditional venue, Sydney and Garrett turned their beautiful family property in North Louisiana into the wedding of their dreams. Every corner held meaning, making their summer wedding unforgettable.
Their friends and family gathered beside the barn as soft florals lined the aisle, leading to a breathtaking floral arch. With the sounds of nature surrounding them, Sydney and Garrett promised forever to one another. It was the perfect blend of timeless elegance and Southern charm, proving that a backyard wedding can be every bit as breathtaking as a traditional wedding venue.
After celebrating with their first kiss and family portraits, the couple slipped away for one of the most intimate moments of the day. Away from the excitement, they exchanged private vows, taking a quiet moment to soak it all in before continuing the celebration. They also participated in a rope-braiding ceremony, weaving three strands together as a symbol of their marriage and faith. Inspired by Ecclesiastes 4:12, "A cord of three strands is not easily broken," it was a meaningful reminder that God would remain at the center of their relationship through every season of life.
As the sun began to set, guests made their way to a beautifully decorated reception tent where the celebration continued. A dance floor, glowing lights, and elegant décor created the perfect atmosphere for an unforgettable summer evening. the Douglas wedding had unique touches like a vintage bar cart, an ice cream cart, and cornhole. This gave everyone a chance to relax, laugh, and celebrate together.
The dance floor stayed packed all night as everyone celebrated the newlyweds under the summer sky. As the evening came to a close, Sydney and Garrett ran through a tunnel of sparklers before ending the night with a spectacular fireworks display. It was the perfect ending to a day that was filled with love, intentional details, and unforgettable memories. Sydney and Garrett's wedding is a beautiful reminder that some of the most meaningful celebrations happen at home—with thoughtful details, heartfelt traditions, and the people who matter most.
